What Happens in Your Body When You Drink a Glass of Alcohol?

There are evenings when a drink feels like a small detail.
A dinner. A birthday. A long conversation.

One glass.

And yet, biologically speaking, that glass sets off a very precise chain reaction inside your body.

Your body doesn’t see it as celebration.
It sees it as a substance that needs to be processed — and neutralized.

The First Minutes: Alcohol Reaches Your Brain

Your Liver Switches Priorities

As soon as alcohol enters your bloodstream, your liver shifts into detox mode.

To your body, alcohol is not a nutrient.
